    Hi.

Still don't have another computer yet, so I'm updating from the library again. Been a long time, did ya miss me? I'm definitely missing all you guys and gals.

Christmas went well, it took McKenzie 2 days to open all her presents. Once again, the promise to not go overboard on presents was forgotten/ignored, and she got completely spoiled. I didn't really exchange gifts with anyone else, didn't have the money to do so after I got through with McKenzie's stuff.

New Years was uneventful. I hung out with some friends and we all got drunk off peppermint Schnapps and played Wii bowling all night. I think I won.

Living with Sue and McKenzie again has been great so far. No major fights, been having lots of fun. It's nothing like the last time Sue and I lived together when all we did was fight. Hopefully we'll remain this way and not fall into our old ways, I'm really enjoying the way things are going right now.

The hardest part of living together is convincing people that we are not "back together" as a couple and that we are not having sex. Nobody wants to believe that, but it's the truth. We're still just best friends and room mates, nothing more. Granted, there have been hints and moments where I believe there could have been more, moments of closeness that could have lead to something else, but we've not allowed anything to happen yet.

Sorry I haven't been updating more often, I'm still in the middle of the whole job search thing and haven't had a lot of time to get to the library. I'll try to update more often, I really have missed y'all. Here's hoping the computer/internet situation changes soon. If nothing else, maybe I can swing the cash for a new laptop at tax time.

Until then, y'all be good and I'll talk to you as soon as I can.

    Miss me, damn you!

    UPDATE

Moved over the weekend. Computer got killed in the move, and by "killed", I mean dropped and busted all to hell. I'm posting from the library. Don't know how often I'll get to post, but I'll do so when I can.

In the meantime, as always, y'all be good.

In the process of moving. Will update and read posts when I get a chance.

By the way, did I mention Susan (ex-wife/best friend) and I are moving back in together? I think I said something about it a few weeks ago. Well it's official, we're doing it. We should be finished moving tomorrow, and hopefully have things pretty much unpacked and settled in within the next five years or so. Seriously, between the two of us and McKenzie, we have a lot of shit to move and unpack.

Until I get back to normal around here, I hope you'll settle for some cheery Christmas music:

    Movin'

I'm gonna be moving this weekend. Don't know how long it's gonna take to get back up and running, but if I'm not around for a couple of days......um, yeah, I guess it won't seem much different, will it?

What I've Learned So Far Today

    1. Combining leftover turkey, hot and spicy pickles and chocolate milk make for some really nasty farts.
    2. Although made for children, Lunchables are delicious snacks.
    3. Telemarketers do not take Sundays off, and they're not any nicer than normal either.
    4. The media cares WAY too much about Tiger Woods.
    5. The local movie theater is not showing "The Road', nor do they plan to.
    6. Weeks later, I still haven't set the clock in the kitchen for daylight savings time.
    7. No matter which flavor, Airheads candy tastes like plastic.
    8. My mom is getting me Season 5 of LOST as one of my Christmas presents.
    9. I need to defragment my computer more than once a year.
    10. 1 guy can play the roles of 12 different MCs and still make the best rap song in recent memory:

    Have a happy Sunday.

    10 Things I'm Thankful For

    I'm thankful for......

    1. My new job, even though I don't think I've ever hated anything with such a passion.
    2. The fact I'm now talking with four other companies about working for them.
    3. Kung Fu Panda. McKenzie has been making me watch Cars for 3 weeks, and thankfully she wanted to watch Kung Fu Panda tonight. I used to like Cars, but not anymore.
    4. Getting to spend time with my sister this week. She lives in Tennessee and this is the first time I've seen her since last Christmas.
    5. Turkey. My favorite meat and tomorrow I get to eat all I want.
    6. Some of my family. Not all of them, just some.
    7. Getting to watch New Moon online and not having to deal with screaming teenage girls at the theater.
    8. Friends. Be it real life or online friends, I love knowing each and every one of you.
    9. Duke basketball. I love sports in general, but college hoops is my favorite time of the year and I love my Blue Devils.
    10. Apple tartlets. It's one of the things we sell at my new job, and these things are fucking awesome.

Naturally, I'm thankful for much more than just these ten things. Above all else, I'm thankful for my daughter, but I gush about her so much I feel that it goes without saying and I don't need to put that love on any list. I have her tonight and part of tomorrow, and I'm thankful for every minute I get to spend with her.

Speaking of McKenzie, there's a strange new potential development. I've mentioned before, I'm sure, that my ex-wife and I are still best friends. We have this strange relationship where we do everything together except have sex and sleep under the same roof. We hang out, go out to eat and to the movies, all the typical stuff that best friends do. Lately, we've been toying around with the idea of moving back in together. We're not planning on getting back together, but we're both in a bad place financially, and we're thinking about renting a 3 bedroom place for a year or so to help one another out. The good part, besides the financial help, woud be getting to spend more time with McKenzie. The bad part is not knowing how McKenzie will handle it in a year or so when we go our seperate ways again. There's things both good and bad, pros and cons. We haven't decided to do it yet, we both still need to think everything through. But the idea's out there, and it might happen.

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope all the tryptophan doesn't make you sleep through all the Black Friday sales. I kinda, sorta want to fight the Walmart crowds to get one of those $58 GPS systems, but I don't really want to get get trampled to death trying to get it either. Y'all be good and be safe.

    Short Version

I just wrote a long, detailed post and then proceeded to lose it. Sorry, but I'm not writing all that shit again. So here's the short version:

New job starts on Monday. After a few meetings, I'm not sure it's the right job for me. My car is dead, can't afford to fix it. Unemployment runs out in three weeks. Because of these things, I feel like I have to take the job, even though I'm not crazy about it anymore. Fuck.

I'm nerveous, worried, scared and stressed all at once. I hope I'm making the right choice, but it's really the only choice I have right now.

    A's to your Q's

A couple of posts ago, I asked for some questions that you'd like me to answer. The response was phenomenal. 3 people responded with questions. Thanks to those who participated, I had fun answering these. And here we go:

    carolinaatnight asked:

What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie, hands down, is Pulp Fiction. Rounding out the Top 5: Shawshank Redemption, The Silence Of The Lambs, 300 and Reservoir Dogs.

Favorite drink? Toss up between Coke and Diet Pepsi

    Favorite color? Black

Who influenced you in a positive way when you were a child? My father. He was a redneck, a drunk and a big ol' all around loser who set a very poor example for me. By doing so, I learned about what kind of man I did not want to become, and I've made sure that I've never even come close to ending up like him. His negative influence was definitely a positive in the long run.

Boxers or brief? I wear both, but I'm wearing boxers at the moment.

If you could live anywhere, where would that be? Right here, but in a better house. I'd love to live in China for awhile, but in reality, it's too far away from my daughter so I'd never go for anything longer than a vacation.

Favorite toy as a child? Toss up between my skateboard and my Atari 2600.

    Favorite toy now? Playstation 3

    Pepin909 asked:

When you were a little kid what did you want to be when you grew up? Are you, or why aren't you, that? The first thing I ever wanted to be was a ninja. No, I'm not a ninja. I'm too fat, uncoordinated and have a low tolerance for pain, so my ninja career would begin and end with me slowly dodging an attack, tripping and falling on my own sword, and screaming like a little girl because it would hurt like a sonofabitch. I also wanted to be a Navy SEAL, but all the things that kept me from being a ninja applied to that as well.

    silverlocket_88 asked:

How was your first kiss? I don't remember it. I assume it was from my mom right after I was born, and my memory of that day is a little foggy.

OK, seriously, my first kiss was a little strange. I liken it to the first time I had sex. It was awkward, embarasssing, strangely uncomfortable, and I bragged to all my friends that I was great at it although I knew it was damn lie. We were both about 12, lived in the same apartment complex, and had been friends for a few years. After we kissed, I told her that it was nice. She told me that I was too rough and that I tasted like cheese (hey, I was a fat kid and I liked Cheetos, what can I say?). After that, we never kissed again and I think she's now a lesbian because of it. Just kidding. We remained friends through high school, but lost touch soon after.

Thanks again for the questions. If you three or anyone else who missed my initial request would like to ask anything else, please feel free. I'm always looking for something else to write about, and I don't shy away from any subject, no matter how personal/touchy/silly/strange it might be.

Still no word on the car as my mechanic only works a few hours on Saturdays. Hopefully he'll let me know something early next week.

    Have a happy Sunday.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

    The Good:

The job interview in Raleigh went well. After the interview, we scheduled a one day "ride along" so I can hit the road with one of the company's salesmen and see the ins and outs of what they do each day. I go out on the road with him on Monday. So far, so good and the job looks promising.

    The Bad:

On the way home from Raleigh, my car overheated. Once it cooled down enough and I added some coolant, I started the car and white smoke started spewing from my exhaust. Got it to a mechanic up the street, and he thinks it could be a blown head gasket. Called a buddy, and he brought his trailer and towed my car back to Nashville to my regular mechanic's shop.

    The Ugly:

Glen (my mechanic) says it could be a number of things causing this, but he thinks most likely it's gonna be the head gasket or a cracked somethingoranother (i forgot what he called it). Best case scenario, even if it's fixable, I can't afford to get it fixed. Worst case scenario, it'll cost so much to fix it'll be cheaper to buy another car, and I can't afford that either.

Right now I'm in a bad spot, really bad. If nothing ever goes right for me again, I at least need this job to work out for me. The job includes a company vehicle that I can drive home everyday, so at least I'll be covered to get to work until I can either get my car fixed or afford another one.

My buddy (same one that towed me) is letting me borrow one of his trucks this weekend and through next week so I can get back to Raleigh for the ride along. I hope everything works out Monday. I hope they like me, I like them and they hire me to run that sales route. I've been having nothing but bad luck for quite awhile now, I need something good to happen with this. I'm just going to put forward my best efforts and hope for the best. It's all I can do.

I hope you all have a pleasant and wonderful weekend. As for me, I'm gonna hang around the house with McKenzie and try not to worry about things. Don't know if I'll be successful, but I'll try.

Pulse

  • 12:30 am. It's cold outside. Quiet. My kind of weather. I think I'll grab a sweatshirt and take a walk in the moonlight.
  • Landlord is sending the pest control people today to spray all the houses. I need to sweep, dust and hide the porn.
  • The sign at the convenience store up the road says "Now Hiring. Boiled Peanuts." I wonder if I qualify for that job?
